9 August -
Hello August, Daughter video up on YouTube
http://youtu.be/LNH6MXUOOuQ

Got a new camera, my old faithful one finally gave up the ghost - hard to admit though, if my beloved camera hadn't stopped working, i'd probably still be gathering pics for the video ;-)

Daughter,
Last night when the moon was yellow
i held my heart up to its warm glow
and in the signal of a fire
i watched it burn to a whisper

Letting go is such a hard
to stop dangling, to stop trying
Place your words upon the flood rock
but where to place your desire

CH: Oh you can't stop the water
though you try my precious daughter
Oh you can't stop the water
there's a lesson let it go

And every time that i was losing
there was a time that i was choosing
Which step to place before me
Which direction goes my story

And all the stars they still do shimmer
As my thoughts begin to dimmer
i dance upon the mystery
how love can bind
but knows no boundaries

Oh you can't stop the water
though you try my precious daughter
Oh you can't stop the water
but there's a lesson
let it go
there's a lesson
let it go ~

8 February 2011 - i have got to be the worst updater in the world ;-) Time just slips right by here. Been working away on several new songs, uploaded a new version of Dacw 'Nghariad (There's My Love) to Sound Click in December and this past week completed a winter video of Winter's Song /Cysga Di Fy Mhlentyn Tlws that i've been working on since the beginning of January. i recorded it here in the old music room, adding photos and bit of video i've taken around the wintry wonderland here. It's up on YouTube, as well as my music page here.  Finally i added a link to my Facebook music page (Jodee James Music) It's on my main welcome page here if you'd like to hop over. Also there's a new music player on my music page linking to songs on my  SoundClick page. Today i began mixing a new song called Journeyman ~ Ok, so let's see how much time gets away from me this time - hopefully it won't be too long - until then, xxx

Website back up and evergoing CD update ~

Yay!!! after a few months of being offline, my site is back up - a big thank you to my pal Kath Nolan. i'm staring at the picture above - the horses are running through the snowy winter fields - and here i am in summer - seems i have some updating to do, but i'm tempted to keep it just the way it is - somehow it's visual air conditioning ;-)

I've gotten 7, almost 8 songs recorded this year - the pace has been slower than molasses but the whole process has been wonderful - a colorful time, and aside from busyness with the shop and other commitments, the endless walks, picture taking and daydreaming moments are all part of this lengthy ever-on-coming project - just 3 or 4 more songs to go, and i hope to have the new CD on it's way ~ xx

PS - for those of you who have been hearing this for a long long time; really! really! ;-)

                                             ~ outside the door ~

20 December 2009

Here we are circling into the longer days, the Holly King is retreating and the Oak King takes is place - Happy Winter Solstice ;-)

i received a kind review from the dedicated Celtic music scene magazine, Celtic Beat and posted excerpts from it on my promotion page - i'm deeply grateful to Art and Joanne for their continued support.

Santa has told me this year that he is bringing me a camcorder - thank you Santa! i am so looking forward to making a better quality video.

How did Christmas get here so quickly? i think its time to get a tree ;-) Oddly enough hopefully the days will slow down now as we focus on the holidays and welcome in the new year. A blessed and happy ~ see you in the new year!

17th December 2009

The big news is that my website is finally renovated and updated ;-) Not sure what i've been doing for the past year but i've been busy enough gathering motivation, working on new songs and poetry, and taking on my daughter's shop Nanuk's Igloo while she goes back to school for her masters and is back to teaching English, this time in Bethlehem, PA. We've introduced The Dragonwell as part of the store with gift items and  imports from Wales. You can find us in northwest New Jersey, at the junction of the Delaware and Pequest Rivers, in the small town of Belvidere.  Looks like the next web project will be creating a Dragonwell website.

This Fall i finished three videos, all on YouTube, and filmed on my humble digital camera - including a music video of the traditional song Ffarwel i Aberystwyth; a silly short video clip of the dogs singing with me called Why i Don't Record Here; and Nanuk's Igloo & The Dragonwell's Shop Song, our little store commerical based on the Welsh folk song Y March Glas (The Grey Stallion).

I've started another video, using a newly recorded version of my song Winter's Song and hope to have it up for the Solstice, but seems i am racing against the calendar here - the Winter Solstice is Sunday. i have a winter show gig on that day and seems we really need a tree up and a few Christmas cookies to munch on ;-) so Winter's Song may have to wait for the depths of January which would be a good project in between knitting an endless scarf i started twelve seasons ago ;-)

And then there's the new CD, a project as lengthy as the scarf undone. i have moved the recording gear everywhere, downstairs from the music room, to the dining room, backroom, to the shop, and now back home to the living room. After running from Snoring Dog Studio, suddenly everything is falling in the place - the wiring quieter, the ceiling fans off, the chain saws sleeping, even the animals not climbing around as much and Henry hound is snoring lighter ;-) The coast is clear, i hope to be back recording after Christmas.  i'll begin posting several tracks from the CD come the turn of the year.

For any of my cherished fans on Facebook - i'm there - i haven't a proper band page yet, but i guess that's next on the list of things to do - in the meantime my personal page is easy to find.

Not sure how big of a blogger i am, but guess i will find out - i have a link to a Journal page here. i'm thinking it could be a good place to post  thoughts, observations, bits of lyrics, overall ramblings.,,, that kind of thing.  i'll save News & Dreams for announcements and updates as well as future projects and daydreams ;-)

Hope this finds you well - and here's wishing you all a wonderful holiday and blessed new year -

Warm wishes, Jodee
